A year after a devastating earthquake will claim the lives of some 222,000 people and left 1.5 million homeless, MSF is working in Haiti.

Thanks to  the generosity of thousands of partners and donors, we have to deal with this emergency response giving the largest in the 40-year history of MSF.

“Until 31 October, MSF has treated 358,000 people, has conducted more than 16,500 operations and has assisted more than 15,000 deliveries.

“Today, we have almost 8,000 people working in Haiti.

“We have served over 90,000 people affected by the cholera epidemic affecting the country, approximately 60% of treated patients.

“Throughout 2010, we spent the total of EUR 104 million donated by our partners and donors in response to the earthquake and cholera epidemic.

Today, Haitians continue to face appalling living conditions and a cholera epidemic that affects the whole country. Agencies and organizations should live up to its commitments to the Haitian population and with donors, and must fulfill their promises.
